5 IN 1 was tapped by Havaianas, the largest sandal producer in Brazil to help with the design of the invitation for the New York office holiday party as well as a submission of a design direction for the redesign and development of HavaianasUS.com, their new ecommerce website. 5 IN 1 chose to partner with Australian graphic design and illustration virtuosos, Rinzen, to art direct and design the invitation and website. The design of the invitation was in the shape of an actual Havaianas sandal, and the pattern was a blend of snowflakes positioned on the heel and toe of the invitation with the typography set in the center. The sandal was double mounted, 2-color letterpressed, and die cut to fit a standard e10 envelope. As far as the website pitch, the home site for Havaianas is so visually dynamic, through its usage of motion and flash, that we wanted to take the excitement and tone from the site, but really utilize usability standards to present a website that helped to reiterate the brand message but create a simple user experience for you the consumer purchasing sandals online. Unfortunately, our designs were not selected, but needless to say, all of our efforts made for a beautiful and smart presentation piece that we are extremely proud to call our own. |
