H.Fredriksson is the New York-based collection from Swedish fashion designer Helena Fredriksson. Growing up in Sweden, Fredriksson studied the arts and took a special interest in collecting and reworking vintage clothing pieces. Her training in the visual arts contributed to a strong sense of color, composition, shape, and sculptural form - all of which inspired her fashion sense quite early on. After being accepted to the Arts Students League to study painting and scultpure, Fredriksson moved to New York at the age of 19. She settled in Brooklyn and began selling her one-of-a-kind clothing items to local stores. As her pieces became popular, Fredriksson launched her own label. Fredriksson has continued to draw inspiration from other art forms in creating her designs. She uses her own photographs to create silkscreens, allowing her to manufacture custom-printed fabric, and her lifelong training in painting and sculpture have contributed to her creative yet striking color combinations and uniquely structured silhouettes. H. Fredriksson as appeared at New York Fashion week for the past 6 seasons and is currently sold in stores around the US, Sweden and Japan. |
